I will be studying abroad this year from about july to december. I have to decide between Mexico DF (capital city) or Rio de Janeiro. I can speak english and spanish fluently, but i can become competent in porteguese by july. Take into account the people, the nightlife, and other cities or locations i can do weekend trips to in the respective country.
What is the better study abroad city: Mexico Capital or Rio de Janeiro?
I think if you are the confindent and can learn porteguese by july I would think Rio de Janeiro would be the more interesting place to study aboard in.
Good Luck!!!
Reply:Mexico City, no doubt. Distrito Federal as it is the offcial name, its the most important city in Latin America an one of the biggest in the world.
The options in Mexico City are huge, world class bars, restaurants, theartes, concerts, sports, culture, etc its near to the beach (Acapulco its just 2.5 hrs by car), its near to the mountains, and to some many places to visit and its near to the US by plane.
And remember the weather, Mexico City its famous for its fine weather all year long, right now in winter the average its 70s and 80s.
To learn Spanish perfectly, can be more helpful than portugese, in us and around the world.
Reply:Definitely Rio. Because of the climate, the nature, the prices, the life. If you speak Spanish already, Portuguese will be quite easy to master. Oh, just go;)
