Best place to study abroad for a Marine Biology major?

What do you think would be the best place with the most opportunities for a Marine biology major?

Best place to study abroad for a Marine Biology major?
Since I don't know where you are, "abroad" could be in the U.S.? We can hook you up with companies or educational and/or research institutions in many other countries around the world when you take your cooperative work experience course.

The education and training you take will depend on whether you intend to go into the practice of marine biology or into further studies of applied marine sciences. What I mean is that there are ways that you can have a career or start a business practicing marine biology such as mariculture, aquaculture and aquarium sciences; or you could have a career in academia or government that involves more studies of marine biology and marine sciences.

If you are interested in going out "collecting", we use that term instead of "fishing" when we're going out on our boat, then take courses in applied and practical marine sciences. If you're interested in working in a lab then take courses in physiology, biochemistry and biotechnology. We have introductory courses in those fields but also have courses that get you out onto the water and onto the mud flats and into the fish tanks.

See the supplied link for more information on the Carteret Community College program in applied marine sciences called Aquaculture Technology. and give me a call if you want a longer answer.

Regards, Skip

Oh, I almost forgot, the degree we offer is like the first two years of the university and you can transfer it to the world famous UNC-Wilmington Dept of Marine Biology as a junior and work toward your bachelorate degree. or you can transfer to East Carolina University, Dept of Biology which also has Aquatic studies, or to NC State University, Dept of Zoology or Dept of Marine Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.

Good luck with your search and inquiry.
