How much money does the average study abroad program for one semster cost?

I would say it depends on where you plan to go.

From what I saw while doing my own researches, in average studying abroad in Europe is around $10,000 - $15,000.

In South America (Costa Rica, Ecuador...) it is about $7,000 - $10,000.

In Africa it is $10,000-13,000.

These prices are about the fees for just the school, you would have to pay something else (around $1,000 - $5,000) for housing, and think about food, outings and other...

My recommendation would be:

- if you are just interesting in a study abroad experience (meaning just for a semester or year) go on www.studyabroad.com and you will be able to look for study abroad programs in the country of your interest and compare prices.

- if you want to get your bachelor and/or master degrees abroad, you can look on this great website: www.macquil.com . You will find US universities abroad and you can apply for students loans or scholarships.

Hope this helps.

so many variables! where, when, for what, how much "extra" will you spend (going out etc.), culture etc. talk to your schools coordinator or foreign language teacher for some help! sorry, can't give you even a rough estimate.
