Is it a good thing to study abroad?

i know its kind of early for me to be thinking of this, but i was planning to study abroad in japan. is it expensive%26amp; what kind of programs are there? oh and by the way i'm 14.

First off, it's not too early! If you want to study in Japan during high school you can and it's such a rewarding and life changing experience. Most go their Junior year and they prefer you apply up to a year+ in advance. I would suggest going through AFS. They have a great support system and are have been doing intercultural exchanges for 60 years now. They have up to 5 different programs- full year, semester, summer home stay, summer home stay plus, and summer language study. I would recommend the full year to get the most out of your stay. It's not exactly cheap to study abroad but you can apply for scholarships with AFS and do lots of fund raising.
