It would be helpful to hear from those who have actual experience studying abroad. Thanks.
Anyone willing to share any advice or suggestions on great Study Abroad programs?
Firstly what kind of study you wanting to do? are you looking for a school or university exchange program or are you interested in just studying a language while exploring new places. I did a few weeks in a language school in Cádiz Spain, here I learnt Spanish and explored the oldest inhabited city in Europe. After my course i received a certificate stating the level of Spanish I had acquired while being here. The Internet site if your interested is www.centromelkart.com
Reply:Hi Starlight,
GoAbroad.com has a comprehensive website that could help you in your search for the best study abroad program. Do check out http://www.studyabroaddirectory.com/sear...
http://www.StudyAbroadDirectory.com has instituted verification mechanisms for authenticity of study abroad providers(you can see a light green check or check++). Aside from that, previous participants of programs had posted their comments and experiences(look for the light blue "talk baloon" icon).
Good luck with your search.

Reply:The University of Portland (Oregon) has a great study abroad programme in Salzburg, Austria. It's a 2 semester programme in English (as opposed to German) that students usually participate in during their sophemore year. The programme includes great Art History and Music classes, as well as various other subjects. The Art class is especially interesting because you learn about the works and then see them. In the fall, students spend a week in France and in the spring, they spend three weeks in Italy and Greece. The school week is only 4 days long, and students are allowed to travel throughout Europe on the weekends. Perhaps best of all? You don't have to buy your textbooks.
It's really a great experience, you get to meet so many great people and see so many awesome things. If you're thinking about applying to a school with a study abroad progamme, consider UP.
They've also got one semester programmes in much of Europe and summer programmes in Austrailia. Hope this helps. :)
